Hifin products offer a complete specimen preparation system for quality control in metalworking and mechanical metallurgy. The heavy-duty fully automatic grinder/polisher, model himet-305, is for multiple sample preparation. It incorporates a motor driven specimen holder, with a controllable pneumatic pressure device. Sample specimens prepared in the automatic mode benefit from equal pressure distribution and a uniform stock removal rate. Digital-timer controlled, each specimen group will undergo identical grind/polish cycles. The specimen holder disc is easily mounted or detached by a quick release chuck. Power driven by a high torque motor the specimen drive is reversible- this expedites grinding and polishing times. The motor driven specimen head is adjustable along a beam, thus making it possible to cross the centre of the disc. Numerous specimen holders with provision for holding square, rectangular or irregularly shaped samples, combined with a specimen levelling device, increases the ability to prepare large volumes of specimens simultaneously. An uncomparable high degree of finish is attainable by addition of diamond lapping with a minimizer system. This greatly reduces operational time, while increasing productivity, quality and efficiency.
